'Mothers Day?'

I have seen the movie Mothers Day, and the storylines are almost identical word for word. Are these movies one and the same? If not, what are the significant differences?

I haven't seen 'Mother's Day' yet but that is a 1980 movie which has a similar scenario to this one. I haven't gone too far into the story of the 1980 film as I don't wants spoilers but I think there are differences in the two stories.
