It isn't so bad.

I really like Robotech 2 The Sentinels, it was a continuation of the FAMED Robotech MACROSS series, telling of the further storys of Admiral Rick Hunter, and Lisa Hayse,to bad it could'nt be made into a whole series, but that was the Promoters, and the War against the American Dollar, and the Japanese Yen, So I guess both sides are to blame for it not being made further, but all in all Robotech 2 is excellent!!

I really liked it. I'm glad to see Rick and Lisa, and the others return. Also, it was even nice to see the two get married. Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles was good, but I wish Harmony Gold would make more Robotech 'films' like this one.

I think the reason it gets flack is because it was meant to start a new TV series, a "midquel" if you will that would bridge the end of MACROSS SAGA with the rest of the Robotech universe, but due to unforeseen issues (such as the Japanese animation company they'd hired folding & not being able to find a replacement) the series got canned and all those stories ended up becoming the stuff of expanded universe novels and comic books. And I've seen some people complain about Miriya having a different voice actress.

For what it's worth "Sentinels" as it is does fill in some of the lost gaps and gives fans the chance to see Rick and Lisa's wedding.
