Put this movie out of its misery **SPOILERS**

I only rented it because of Campbell Scott and Laura Linney. I'm hard pressed to find anything likeable about it. Even Campbell half naked (not the interesting half, more's the pity) was hardly worth seeing. There's not really a plot, just a bunch of scenes strung together. I kept wondering why Lionel was bothered by seeing lawn machinery at the house next to the golf course. The movie was nearly over before I realized it was his childhood home, where his father was the grounds keeper. Lionel went to a fancy school on scholarship, where he must have been looked down on.

The white dog running in and out was never explained, nor was the cross-dressing party at the end. I thought maybe Lionel was transfigured or whatever it's called.

Blah is all I can say. I only watched it all to see if Firman was really dead.
