That is a good comparison, but Gojira (the original, all-Japanese film) is more of a comparison to the nuclear bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as this was stated by the creators and producers themselves. It was supposed to portray, fantasy-movie-wise, the devestation left by the bombs, the way people had to cope with the aftermath, and the lessons we should learn about the after effects of playing with nuclear energy. Don't know if this will help at all, but it is all I know on the subject after reading the comments from the producers and creators.

Well, I hope you did well with your paper. Of course, by now you probably have your Ph.D. and maybe even tenure.

I think a good idea for the next Godzilla movie would be for him to surprise Honolulu on a Sunday morning, sinking battleships at Pearl Harbor and killing over 2000 men, women and children. Then he could wander throughout the Pacific decapitating soldiers or chasing them in Bataan until many die, herding the survivors into squalid prison camps for further abuse. If he needs a rest, he could rape several Korean comfort women. Of course we would still need the narrative that it was all the Americans' fault and portray Japa.., I mean Godzilla as the innocent victim. I'm sure Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon would be available to star. I think Tojo, I mean Toho Studios would be interested.

so your probabbly way done with your papaer but I feel that comparing The return of godzilla to the american realise godzilla 1985. this comparison works well as a good cold war era movie and shows some pretty clear examples of american propaganda
