random scenes that you like

I'm rewatching this and I'm at the episode where Faith is in a diner that's about to get robbed and she picks up on it before it happens and saves the day.

The bad guy had an MO, he'd get into the bathroom of the diner and then he'd start shooting, but here, when the bad guy comes out the bathroom with a shotgun in his hand she's already behind him with the pistol at his head...
I got goosebumps hahaha, love that scene! :)))))))

i remember that ep very well, it´s one of my favorites. not so much because of that scene you describe; but because it has nearly no brutality (the crime itself is not even shown - only the result) and has such a nice mood with much humour and a bit thoughtfullness and something nearly dreamlike; it´s so close to faith as just a person (woman, mother, wife, friend).

that´s what i miss in "the shield" (yet; didn´t see all): those silent eps between (and the rescuers).

p.s.: (to our other posts) i´ve tried that original speech with subtitles before (and do it when i already know the film and there´s a fav actor/actress with lovely voice in it), but it doesn´t really help to learn. and at least here in germany the subtitles often short the text and i found out that sometimes they even change it a bit (when i could understand the spoken words).
but thank you for that friendly tip, roxist.

hi :)

I actually love the crime scenes too - especially when they have a background music that keeps you focused...
In the scene with Faith at the diner, I liked how much attention she paid on her job, she was a great cop!

For our other posts: I'm sorry it doesn't seem to work. Since it worked for me I thought it would be a helpful tip but now I realize we all learn things differently.

You're welcome and I'm sorry it didn't help!

hi, -

oh yes - faith is/was a great cop, i think so, too. and an interesting and nice person - i like her very much; she and bosco with their over the years changing relationship are my very favs, though i love the others, too (most of them... (((g))) ).

one of my "random scenes that [i] like" and comes to my mind just this moment is with them (2nd or 3rd ep, i think): bosco in ambulance car, faith besides him, he says: "i could have shot him" and faith: "but you didn´t" and smiles somehow proud.
another is that thing with bosco/jimmy - struggle; beginning with that note on sully´s car over "stolen" copcar and tv reporting up to bosco with the man which took the car: the way he treats him with respect, after all that bad he had said before about that man.

and i very special love the end with ty + finn: that´s like closing a circle on a higher level (don´t know how else i could express).

to the other: it´s good that it workes for you and it surely works for much others. for me: i had to write lists and walk round my room, learning; then test what i remember, write a new list of that which i didn´t yet ... and test the whole some days later. and so on. i´m ablaming too lazy for doing that (shame).

i hope i´ll get a bit more when i watch it again. and then a bit more when i watch it one more time etc. but it´s a shame that they´re not out on dvd. every crappy bullshet is, but not that jewel! (grrrr)crime against culture.

that's true - every other show is now on dvd and this seems to be forgotten...
haha, crime against culture - that's also true!! :))

another random scene that I like - this thread is becoming my journal, hahaha :))) - is where Carlos decides to keep the baby. I feel like they should've kept that storyline and having him quit med school to take care of his little girl... very sad that he had to give her up...

reply

yes - carlos and his baby. (and ty involved, too...). for me it´s okay like they told it: he was such a very ambitious (and egocentric, heedless) young man with a such great ego and it takes time to overcome such. his child was very helpful on his way to become a really nice and caring guy.

btw: i like how he TRIES to become a social human, rather in the beginning.

and i like it when faith "forgets" to mirandize squahana´s mother. i love that whole story over 2 episodes.

It was sad but BRILLIANT that he had to give her up. Finally, a realistic storyline instead of a feel-good storyline! You can always depend on Third Watch for that.

Yes, love that!

I love when Bosco breaks down about 9/11, and when Bobby rescues the little boy/Davis rescues the little girl, when Carlos drops Kaylie off at her new parents' house, the very first episode when the entire crew is waiting to see if Jerry is going to make it - I can pick out a hundred scenes, per episode, that I adore!

Favorite random scene from season five finale. Its the final scene, When Cruz asked if Yoshi was at the wake...and Bosco just starts screaming "Ahhh, Who cares about YOSHI!" Cracks me up everytime. Poor Yoshi. lol

Yes, that scene has to be the best of Faith along when she and little Emily stifle the bank holdup, and when Fred, Bosco and Tim Meadows try to win the truck in the park, and Faith gets a good laugh over that one.

Also think the best of "Third Watch" has to do with the evening when the gang splits up into three groups, mixing in a way which they do not normally socialize.

Then, after Kim and Bosco's group say "good-night," Bosco walks alone through town and decides to turn into a church holding a midnight service. Loving that scene because it proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Bosco is really a great, sincere, sensitive, multi-dimensional character.

The "Darwin candidate" dude in the park who Doc and Carlos respond to. His problem (once he lifts the hat off his head) is that he has a screwdriver sticking out of his head.

reply

I love the scene when Carlos and Doc are treating someone who is exacerbating his car collision injury so he'll be taken to the hospital and make an insurance claim. Bosco shows up to take the report and tells them they should cut him loose but they can't. Instead they excessively treat him taping his eyebrows down, putting the collar on, taping him on the backboard, everything they can possibly do. His condition according to Carlos: "rectal cranial inversion". Aka, his head is up his ass. Carlos hints they will make sure he will be "properly attended to" at he hospital in terms of comfort and waiting time. Bosco remarks "paramedic street justice, who knew". The scene ends with Doc asking for a roll of tape and Carlos hands it to him, then Bosco reaches in the bag and tosses another one saying "here, use this too".

I thought it was so funny when Carlos came into the apt. and Ty and Alex were scurrying around naked trying not to be seen. LOL! I really enjoyed the affair between Ty and Alex and wish it had played out longer. I didn't care for the Nia Long character and was really ticked when Alex was killed off.

I just started watching this show and i simply love the chemistry between Kim and Bobby. I just saw the episode where bobby's brother, matty was given an ultimatum and made the wrong choice. Bobby and kim then kissed, and it made my day, i was so happy! :)

I really like this show, but it's so bad quality, if it were 720p resoulution i'd give it a 10/10.

Haha, the moment when bosco is getting robbed by two hobos, and he gets his gun out and robs them instead. He also makes them take their clothes off... Hahahah pissin' myself of laughter!
