Question about 'innocence'

Ok, they did not commit that murder at the drive-in. But was Cash a drug dealer? And knowing he had a child to support, did Avery still choose to hang with criminals?

reply

That's life. Avery didn't "hang with criminals" he hung with his lifelong friend who may have just happened to get involved in certain things that Avery didn't...

reply

So, did Avery know that the things his friend "happened to be involved in" were illegal?

reply

I'm sure he probably did. But since Cashmere wasn't transporting a kilo at that moment...there was no harm in accepting a ride from a close childhood friend who for whatever reason, chose to become a drug dealer. A REAL friend is a real friend regardless and wouldn't have put Avery and Dre in any danger because of the life he chose. Some don't understand this but it's a reality.

reply

Reality is that if you hang with a drug dealer and he gets busted, most likely you are going to jail too. If you are with someone that shoplifts, and they get caught, guess what? Most likely you will be arrested too.

The bottom line is if you choose to "live the life" then you also choose to pay the price.

Yeah, well that may be the case for someone who didn't grow up and is not used to an urban environment (not saying that is you but, it seems so) But like I said: A REAL Friend is a REAL Friend, Cashmere grew up with both of them and was their friend, even if he did do 'illegal' things (which they never actually confirmed he did, in the movie) he didn't do them while he hung with his innocent friends. Avery and Dre wasn't hanging out on the corners with Cashmere, they simply accepted a ride.
