mum back

Could anyone explain this joke to me? It was mentioned in another thread (on "the Polish carpool"), but not explained.

reply

he's saying that the worker behind the truck would be telling the truck driver to 'come on back' (back up the truck)

come on back
mon back
mum back

;))

I'm on trial for being afraid?
Well first, I don't like the word 'trial'; and secondly, yes.

reply

Thank you for the response.

I do recognize that "mum back" is a slurred pronunciation of "come back". But would the workers say that? And what's so funny about it?

reply

A worker could say that - to guide the truck driver - but i think the real joke is that he uses the expression as a job title....

I'm a monback ;)

Also, it isn't supposed to be particularly funny, since Ray is is no more a joke teller than he is a 'brain' - his sarcastic nickname while in jail.

There's a word for people who think everyone is conspiring against them.
That's right: perceptive!

reply

I think it was intended to be a poor joke.
