Not forgotten by an entire generation

This series was called Remi Sans famille here in the province of Quebec. I think that this series was never translated in other language than french. If it is so, it's a real shame because it's one of the most beautiful and touching animated tv series of all-time. A couple of weeks ago it was released as a DVD boxset region 1 in french only(sorry). Through it was made in the late 70s, it played a lot through the 80s. I will never forget it, a huge thanks to creators!

Remi Sans famille was dubbed into Arabic and played in Middle East in the 80's (On Saudi TV in 1985). Unfortunately, no trace of any DVD, VCD or VHS versions are avaliable anywhere.

Hola.

Sure its a great anime this is not well known but this is really good.My favorite character was Vitalis but he died too much soon in the series. That a shame!

It has actually been dubbed in Chinese here in Taiwan, and has touched the hearts of children of at least two generations. However, somehow they "localized" the names of the characters. I think it was because at that time Taiwan was not as open to Western customs and cultures as now.

I still remember reading the abridged version of the original novel in Chinese while watching the cartoon, and I loved the story and how they didn't change much of the story in the cartoon. Thank you Hector Malot for the story, and the team for making the series!

It was dubbed in Bulgarian too and I think it aired in 00's but it could be sooner, just that is the time I watched it. I remember that I loved it and I cried a lot! It was beautiful made and with great story! I would love to watch it again!

PS: I just realized as I was writing that the OP posted this maybe the same time as I watched the series. Haha, time goes so fast I guess :)

Gonna have to agree, this is probably the best children's series I have ever seen. Almost no competition.
