When Craig had Pinky at gunpoint, Pinky told him the combination to his safe. I thought they were just going to rob him. Instead, they went after the Mexican guys. Why?

Craig never intended to fight Pinky. Pinky thought he was a burglar and pulled the gun on him which led to them fighting.

They probably(in character world) didn't think that fast to come up with that idea, figured it was too risky since pinky knew who they were, or that sorry ass Pinky would have less than a G in it anyway.
