Film is held together by Miranda Otto
I've been to South Africa 4 times and love it to death. The wildlife and scneery is fantastic and every bit of the country i just love so much and i can't wait to go back.
So over the last couple of years I have been looking out for films based in Africa. "Out of Africa" is good but a bit long and Meryl's accent is horrible. The best one I've seen yet is a film starring Richard Harris called "To walk with lions" which is about 2 old men who own a place in the wild...1 man loves lions the other loves elephants...and then poachers come along.
So when I saw Kin in the television times i was excited...especially that it has Miranda Otto in it...who I love in LOTR.
After seeing this film, I realised that it was only Miranda that kept the film together. The whole story seems promising but is thrown into the gutter with crap twists and lack of acting skills from everyone else. Isiah Washingston (sorry about spelling) didn't do a good job and he ended up annoying me (probably cus he got with miranda)...the only good thing about this film is the scenery...which is at times breathtaking. Miranda may not have delivered a performance up to the standard of Eowyn in Lord Of The Rings...but she deserved credit for holding together a film that otherwise would have been utterly rubbish.
I give it 5/10 purely cus Miranda did a good job and the scenery, and i really like elephants so that helps :)
