thank you! I've loved this movie since I saw it about 5 years ago. It is not as terrible as everyone says it is.

I'm fine with the fact that you loved it... But I sure as he ll didn't =P

It felt to obveous and do real twists ... When she fell in the woods that was crap... You knew she was gonna fall and that it wasn't "just a bad knee"

And I laught my ass off when she hid in the tube =O Who does that?? And out of all places in hte intire house she had to run to the place where his mum died...

And there was not a single moment I felt like crying... It didn't touch me because it was so predictable and felt like "wannabe" sad and touching...

Didn't like it at all...

And who in their right minds would choose Chris Klein over Josh Hartnett??

Lois look! RUN!!

I didn't like this movie either, it could have been much, much better. But whatever. Either way, the people who hate this movie are just as entitiled to their opinion as the people who loved this movie, so stop complaining.

This movie has a lot of moments where 'something magical' took over. The screenplay & photography is one of the strongest I've seen. One name that you guys should know about - Andrea Morricone, the SON of ENNIO MORRICONE. He did the beautiful & glorious score for the movie. Anytime a Morricone name is in a movie,it tells a lot about their choice of involvement...and that the movie would be special. The heavenly 'Where You Are' By Jessica Simpson further makes it extra special!. The whole package of the movie is just....(best way i could describe it) uplifting heavenly GOOSEBUMPS!

This is not your everyday normal 'LOVE' movie. The title itself, 'HERE ON EARTH' is special. The 'Birches' poem attached to this film also makes it more special. One strong scene, during the bus scene....when Sam has so much going on in her mind when she confesses to Jasper that she can't go with him. Leelee is an amazing force in this film. The casting is right on.

'Here On Earth' is tons better than 'A Walk To Remember'.

Your English is absolutely appalling. If it's not your native language, then fair enough. Otherwise...I don't really have any solutions. It's just an indictment on the school system.

reply

Is my english terribly appalling? Is it that bad? I'm sure in the end...u did get what I'm trying to say. No?

reply

No, I was refering to the original poster. The thread system here isn't terribly clear, I realize. But yeah, "u" for "you" is pretty stupid.

reply

umm haha how about if you're trying to save time.. thats why i use it

have to agree with choosing chris over josh thing, i love the movie but that totally ruins it for me. the only bits that make me sad are the looks on Jasper's face in the last half hour, it kills me cos he's so hurt. no one i know would ever pick a preppy, spoilt brat over a nice, sweet guy (ok the fact it's josh hartnett really does help, but his charecter is much more likable!) I just don't understand, even when jasper spent all that time helping her at the end when kelley was off picking flowers, she STILL leaves Jasper standing. Crazy!

reply

Everybody is "dissin" this movie because they have taste. It sucked plain and simple. There's no chemistry, the dialogue was clunky, and neither character was likable.

"The truth is never flattering, Dr. Adams."
"You fine, foxy lady."

reply

i didnt feel any chemistry either. I could see preteens and young adolescences enjoying the film but i was very bored. I predicted everything that would happen. And LeeLees character...getting a call that straight up says you have cancer NO. Totally unprofessional. I know she had cancer before but I really think if something was terminal they wouldnt tell you over the phone. They would have you come in with family or whoever and discuss final treatment. STUPID!

I wouldnt have dated either guys. Jasper was a big cry baby vagina and the other guy is just a bad actor.

reply

I agree the movie sucked hard but as to the phone call regarding the cancer diagnosis, that's how I found out I had an usually fatal cancer. But it was mostly due to my leaving the hospital after testing(didn't know the doc wanted me to come back to his office}! So it does happens.....but the flick as you said, Blew!

reply

I couldn't have said it better myself. I missed the beginning and was so glad I did. I almost recorded it but after I saw like ten minutes of it, decided not to. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Plus, everyone knows thar Josh Hartnett wins hands down over Chris Klein!

I didn't think it was a terrible movie. I felt that everything Chris Klein said sounded very recited, and by the end they had used the Robert Frost poem way too many times, but overall it was pretty good.

The only reason I was turned off was because of it's resemblance to "A Walk to Remember." That kind of bored me. As I said on a different thread, within the first few minutes, I was comparing the two movies. The only difference in my mind was that in "A Walk to Remember," Jamie had cancer. Then when it was revealed in "Here on Earth" that Samantha was going to die of cancer as well... It was very yawn-inducing.

I loved it too (I rated it 8/10), actually I came here because I was thinking about rewatching this movie I saw when I was a teenager and I'm finding it has a very low rate, I don't know but this place is full of snobs, if they want to watch The Cranes are Flying they should and stop watching this movies that they know aren't their taste and after all this kind of films were made just for warm us in a cheesy but efective way, you know with that light hearted but warm effect that early 2000s used to have. So yeah, I liked it!
