Things you admire about the franchise other than the deaths

I like the tone of the movies, and how everyone dies at the end (like in real life) no one gets to live for being a good person, or dies because they're an ass, they all die no matter what. In most of horror, we're not supposed to care about who dies, but at least the characters are authentically disposable.

I also like how absurd the reality of the deaths can be, which falls in line with the nihilistic and cynical tone of the movies, about how unfair and arbitrary life can be.

There's also a refreshing facelessness to the series, there are no real marketable protagonists and villains that you can buy as Halloween costumes. There is no in effect, "mascot" for the series, the closest thing that comes is that infamous bus.

and then theres the foreshadowing and symbolism

what do you like about it beyond the deaths

The tone as you mentioned, and how clever and ironic the films can be.

I like the supernatural element of the film, and the fact that there is no physical killer at all. Only death, which is something unavoidable and present to us at all times.

Of course, the foreshadowing, and the premonitions. In real life, there are 'signs' and foreshadowing everywhere. I'm not speaking strictly in terms of death alone, but in many things in life. We've all experienced it somehow, some people more often than others, but it's there. So it's interesting to see that unknown, strange part of life explored further, even if exaggerated ofc.
