The Chicken Fat Lady

Now, I looked over each page to see if anyone else asked this, and did not notice it. If someone did I missed so I apologize. But, what was the deal with the babysitter they called 'the chicken fat' lady? Was she an alcoholic? Druggie? I mean she looked out of it the one time, so I am assuming one or the other I just said previously. I have the DVD but there are no deleted scenes with her and they did not mention. Thank you

I think that she was the cheapest babysitter Erin could find.

She was probably a woman who lived by herself and agreed to babysit to make money but she wasn't a real babysitter. It was just a job to her. Erin probably worked odd hours and was in between jobs so she needed to find someone who could babysit at random times, instead of regularly.

I don't think the "chicken fat lady" was a druggie, just a women who wasn't really wanting to babysit but did it anyway cause she got paid.

Actually that is a better way to look at it then mine. I should of thought of that instead just assuming the worse. Thank you for responding and that does make more sense. she just thought of herself more then the kids, another reason she just took off without caring. Thank you again!

She didn’t take off without caring. She drove the kids back to their home and left them with the neighbor guy. Maybe she had an emergency or an appointment. A note would have made sense, but she was not supposed to be the most responsible looking nanny.

Erin was crazy busy and afraid to lose her job all the time. Erin hung up on the lady abruptly when she called her at the office to report that baby Beth had a cough. So she wasn’t the worst person to leave kids with, just not the best.
