Did the show ever have a black guest star?

I saw it as a child and I don't remember any appearing on the show.

I seem to recall Timmie "Oh Yeah!" Rogers was a frequent guest on the Gleason show in the '60's. As well, there were Louis Armstrong, Diahann Carroll, The 5th Dimension, and the late mimic George Kirby (a partial list).

Duke Ellington's granddaughter, Mercedes Ellington, was June Taylor dancer.

The Fifth Dimension appeared in variety formats.

Of COURSE! Duke Ellington and Count Basie appeared on the show. I have that kinescope!! It was a salute to the big bands. Not only did Duke and Count appear on that episode, but Guy Lombardo, Sammy Kaye, Freddy Martin, and Les and Larry Elgart were also on the bill. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It takes little effort to just glance down the list of guest stars on the main show page. There are quite a few, it appears.
