Hey fans, where are you?

I thought that this board would have a lot of threads discussing the show, it's a shame that it hasn't... I'm sure there must be some more fans of this show around here... or am I alone in this? I just love this kind of wacky humor! It's one of my favorite shows, and the actresses are very talented. And what can I say about the song parodies at the end of each episode... LOL
Anyway I hope fans start gathering around here, don't leave me here talking to myself :P just because I love this sort of crazy humor, doesn't mean I'm totally crazy myself.

This show really great!!!
What's your other favorite shows?

reply

Glad to see someone replied
Some of my other favorite shows (inside the humor area) are Big Train, The League of Gentlemen, Coupling, South Park, Seinfeld, pretty diverse stuff, but each with their own good things. I have to say though, between all of these, The League of Gentlemen is my favorite :)

I love this show so much!!! I wish they had produced more DVDs.... They are extremely funny! I love them a lot! I also like a couple of American TV series (comedy): Grace under Fire and Married with Children. Lots of witty jokes here too!

I am a male from Canada. I just loved this show. Yeah I know you are probably thinking I am in it for the girls but I can't tell you how great it is to see female comedians that are not only geneuinly beautiful (anti plastic Hollywood beautiful) but very talented and bloody hilarious.

This show was great! The musical clips were great. The quiet tone in their humour and speaking was unique.

One of my favorite moments:

The Lady freaking out on the street when she first noticed she was 8 months pregnant.

The music video that was very techno.

the vet who had no idea what to do.

the office workers competing in drinking water. Staring from a small glass to a water cooler chug.

I wrote to Channel 4 and BEGGED them to repeat the old shows - they said they have not planned any future repeats but noted my enthusiasm to do so.

If you really want to see this show aired a bit more then e-mail or write to Channel 4 and ask them to!! They noted my enthusisams so if all us fans write maybe they will!!

There email address and writing address is on there website. do it!

Finally got a copy of the DVD of the 'best bits' of series 1 and 2.

It's such a fantastic show I want more! One DVD of 'the best bits'? That's not good enough!

I saw Bridget Jones 2 the other day and Sally Philips does a great job.

Does anyone the what the deal is with smack the pony? I mean, I've been out of the country for a while and when I came back they don't seem to be showing it. are there going to be any more series?

reply

Yes, Smack the Pony is great!!!!!!! Luckily, I've recorded them all on tape, since you can't buy the entire show on DVD. Here in Denmark they ran the entire show like 5 or 6 times, and you can just watch it again and again. And yes, especially Sally Phillips is fantastic :)

reply

I love it too! I'm English and it's completely disappeared from all normal AND Sky channels. WHY?!?!? They should bring it back! I think it's one of the best British comedy sketch shows ever made.

reply

I found the first series quite amusing but occassionally lacking in the laughs department - the second series really made me laugh my £ucking a$$ off though...

You obviously haven't seen this show.

Or know any women, for that matter, loser.

I absolutely love this show. To my mind it's up there with Trigger Happy TV, Blackadder and Spaced. Do you think if everyone signed a petition and sent it to the production company they would release it ALL on dvd? because that would be great. I have so many fond memories of watching the dating service videos, tears streaming down my face, thinking i was going to die if i didn't breathe soon...

Who's with me for putting pressure on them to release it all?

"Is that really supposed to go there?"

reply

I am, very very much so!

I luuuurve Smack The Pony!! I'm watching it right now!!

Anyone else like Peep Show on ch4? 3rd series starts next friday, so excited!!

nickhansell82-1 "Women can't be funny" ???

that's such a stupid statement. stp made me laugh harder than any sketch show i've ever seen.

i love STP!! it's amazing how much a 1 minute clip can make me laugh so hard! it brightens up my day!

I must've recorded almost all of the shows when they were on TV, but my dad RECORDED OVER MY EFFIN TAPES!

I wish they brought the series out on DVD, or even just replayed 'em.

One very funny sketch I remember was a doctor(?) sitting in her office, with a skeleton hanging in the room (you know the ones for reference, not anything spooky) and she was talking to the skeleton then started flirting with it and sucking it's fingers it was hilarious!

I also liked the 'date tv ads' if anyone remembers what I mean. Some of those were really good.

I havent got the 'best of' DVD, what sketches/music parodies are on it?

There's lotsa Smack The Pony sketches on YouTube.

I haven't seen the "best of" dvd, they never actually are the "best", y'know? I mean, dvds for French and Saunders and Not The 9 O'Clock News are such hacked-up sad failures compared to the full shows. But I did get copies of S1 and S2 (dying to see S3!) and I am SHOCKED that they aren't more popular.

These ladies are amazing! These sketches are smart, weird, and very funny. The direction is great, everything looks great, all the performances are spot-on. If a sketch isn't working (which is rare), it's
over in 3 minutes or less. The music is good. The pace and tone is varied. It's just about a perfect sketch show. Where on Earth did it disappear to?

I'm American but most of the TV comedy I like is British. The only American TV comedy I really put in the same class as all that is Mr. Show (though The Simpsons is terrific sometimes).

Hi, there! Well... I seem to be the only person who seems to like stp around here. Oh, one of my friends likes it to but what I'd like to say is that English humour, especially stp-humour is THE BEST!! I'm even going to put a little presentation together that's partly about stp!!!
Is there any official web site of stp? I was searching google for one but they just send me to sites that are, well... not really... um...
Yeah, you're right, the songs are just so funny and ironic!
If you're still visiting this site - mail back! Oh, have I mentioned that I'm German??
