This film isn't right

Why the hell do we glorify Drug Dealers? The woman was a drug-seller. What dislikeable characters. Comedy, pffft, not one laugh in the movie.

You take life too seriously.

Yeah man, you need to loosen up.

There's alot worse going on in the world than a (FUNNY!) movie about pot dealers.

reply

It wasn't glorifying drug dealers, it was glorifying a victimized woman who unfortunately had to turn to drug dealing. there's a difference. lol.

What I'm trying to figure out is, if they are soooo against drugs, then why did they see his movie in the first place??

Because they were fooled by the title, Saving Grace, into thinking that the film was about something else.

They thought it was a "crusader" film in which someone fought valiantly for the right to say a short prayer of gratitude before a meal: saving grace.

Or not. . . .

First off, she actually doesn't sell the drugs, she burns them up, so legally she isn't a drug dealer and while she might be prosecuted for growing pot, since it was all burned up there is no evidence to support a case of growing an illegal drug.

Second, the setting is Cornwall, which for centuries has had a reputation of many skirting the law. As the law is English & the English make it clear the Cornish are different & inferior, the Cornish take a certain native pride in flouting English law. Like liberating the contents of ships that happened to run aground or growing pot.

This is very interesting. Can you elaborate on this phenomenon and/or point to some reading on that topic?

Do you have any tobacco?
