I had seen a rumor posted on Muppet Central that this was to be release Novemeber 4th by Columbia. I also saw posted on ebay a copy in dvd form from a guy in canada (no picture). It obviuosly isn't in stores here, I don't know about canada. I would be leary though.

I purchased a copy from a guy in canada. I asked for VHS. The copy was a third or fourth generation copy. It wasn't totally blurry, but slightly so. I guess you could say the picture was fuzzy. I wasn't leary-I should have been.
The excuse was "it was originally done in 1979". Ya right ! ! Right here I have learned that it was "shown" again. From that "showing" a GOOD copy could have been made. I speak of "copy" because it is NOT AVAILABLE COMMERCIALLY. The people that complain about "infringement" don't understand the word "not available". If it can be made available G R E A T . Hey the folks who would (and should) profit from the original artistic endeavor, HAVE A CHOICE TO ISSUE IT COMMERCIALL FOR SALE. Usually it is not done because S O M E O N E does not think it will have enough appeal (sell well). Therefore when a few? of us want to be able to view it, and someone will work to bring it to us, I believe it is fair. If it is available commercially, then no, it should not be copied and sold.
Iam sitting here with a nostalgic tear in my eye...wow how i loved this particular edition of the muppets. I remember seeing it once around the time it came out when i was five. Iam sure this has never been seen again on UK television. I have the soundtrack and listened to it over and over again when i was a kid. I now have the cd and its just wonderful.
Please help me find a copy of the show!
I'm also looking and have contacted Jim Henson .com,ABC.com and Disney .com and Columbia WHAT NEXT??
My 30 some year old copy is worn and my grandson loves it.I will check again Later. Good luck and Merry Christmas

You can get DVD copies on ebay. I'm sure they're just copied from old VHS tapes, but I bought one, and the quality is pretty good! Better than nothing!
