Did anyone notice the strange looking 'clock' on the wall of the Admirals office in the first scenes where Capt. Pellew gets his orders to head to the coast of Brittany?

It's got one hand and it's constantly swinging back and forth. Now, call me boring but my curiosity is killing me -- what is that?

LOL, I was watching this yesterday with my husband and we both wondered the same thing! We supposed it might be some sort of compass?

Yes, perhaps a compass. Hubby postulated a tidal clock, but that wouldn't move back and forth like that. Hmm...

Wind direction - it's linked to a weathervane on the Admiralty's roof. It really exists in the Admiralty, though IIRC no longer works.
