It is a British production made by British network.

In America it has the A&E label, I believe they probably worked in conjunction with the British network. I also read and have articles about A&E's production of it.

Indeed. If the two previous posters had watched the titles at the end they'd see the A&E credit. It's actually a UK-USA co-production...made in the UK but also funded by a US company.
