I prefer the games. I didn´t liked the movie very much. I guess that the movie tried to be something big, epic...But that doesn´t work for a game like "Silent Hill", which is more focused in the psychological horror. The games have a unique atmosphere, great visuals, but also very interesting characters. The characters of the movie weren´t very well developed. I also prefer the story of the games than the story of the movie, that seems more like a combination of the story of the first two games with some new elements...

Games are better than the movie, with everything R_b said.

The game was far better, but the movie was halfway decent. (One of the better video game films, and one of the stronger Hollywood horror films of the past decade) The game is a 10, but the movie is a solid 6-7.

The problem is that Christophe Gans and Roger Avery seemed to think that if they followed the visual aesthetic of the game, they could change the story to whatever they wanted. That's what bothered me- it looked exactly how a Silent Hill movie should look, but the story changed far too much. (To the point that the director of the second movie is basically doing damage control, and has promised it will be closer to the games)

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
