I dont think its supposed to be erotic. IMO, the movie was about a woman who turned sex into a bodily function instead of "making love." If it was passionate love making, or primal lusting, than it would be erotic, but this film obviously did not take the romanticized vision of sex categorizing it with eating, breathing, and going to the bathroom.
Thats why she didnt like blow-jobs cause it was simply about pleasure, and probably the only reason she tried to do it with the one she thought she loved.
