Theater Release for 'Texas Rangers'

I remember hearing about this movie, and even seeing commercials/trailers for it, but I don't remember it actually being in the theatres. I had heard the studio held on to it for a while. Was it ever released in theaters or was it straight to video? If it was released, it must have been in play for a short stint. Thanks

It was filmed in 1999, and released in 2001, so the studio held on to it for 2 years.

You remember seeing commercials and trailers? That's news to me. I didn't know it was out until I saw it listed at the local theater in the newspaper.

I have an old Entertainment Weekly from 1999 and in the Spring/Summer 2000 movie preview guide, it listed this as an April 2000 release and had a publicity shot of Van Der Beek and McDermot on horseback. Then it never came out.

I was one of the few to see it in theaters. I went with my father in Nov. 2001 at a defunct theater in Puyallup. It went to a handful of theaters I recall in the Seattle, WA area. But by it's 3rd week it was at the "cheap seats"/last chance theaters, and that's where I saw it.

We had it here in Toronto, Canada, it came out on November 30th, by December 3rd, it got pulled out of all the Famous Players' theatres in Canada. I won a run-of-engagement pass that I never got to use; I still have not seen this movie.

Well, I got hold of the movie not long after what I posted above, and I've got to say it was bad, but not really bad.
