In my opinion, the worst part of this (besides the obvious) is that I always thought of Chewie as a bachelor. Doesn't it kind of seem dickish to leave your family behind to go zipping around the galaxy with your buddy? It does to me.

in the canon though chewie was listed (even in the first star wars) as being over 800 years old. so a life debt to a human is probably a short amount of time.
