Has Germany really occupied Japan?

I'm wondering whether Nazi-Germany has really occupied Japan in 'Jin Roh'.

Was this clearly stated in the anime? Or is there more info in the manga?

In the German wikipedia article stands "...nachdem Deutschland den Zweiten Weltkrieg gewann. Seitdem herrschen die Achsenmächte." "...after Germany won the second world war. Since then the axis allies are ruling."

Could it be that there was just a very narrow, tight "cooperation"?

A cooperation in which Japan "assimilated" German things, cars (Beetle), weapons, uniforms, administration structures etc. ?

yes, Germany has occupied Japan .

In the Jin Roh timeline, the atom bomb still falls on Japanese soil.
Only this time, the bombers are german made.
