Did they ever show what Vern looked like or was he always behind the camera?

You only ever saw his hand. He was like the women Christopher Walken was always hitting on in his "The Continental" sketch.

I wonder why they only used Vern in one movie (Ernest Saves Christmas) and the t.v. show. They could have found a place for him in the rest of the Ernest franchise.
