ohh yeahhh!! My bad, i was thinking of "madam bovary" and i have no idea why... yeah, Griffith was genius.. i live in the town where he used to work (and i'm probably the only person here who appreciates it).

The town where he used to work? Hollywood? Haha, well I live in L.A., and I am proud knowing that Griffith filmed some of the cinema's greatest films only minutes from my home.

uh...actually, it's Mamaroneck NY, the pre-Hollywood Hollywood. I guess not many people knew that, but the movies were transported to CA because of the more agreeable weather. The Gish sisters also lived here.
That reminds me, was "Angels With Dirty Faces" on this Top 100 list?

of the movies mentioned so far, i agree with Notorious, Paths of Glory, and Night of the Hunter.

i'd like to add two fliks that i think are superb achievements: Deliverance, and The Sweet Smell of Success.
