I'm not talking about your little Shawshank Redemptions and your Fight Clubs. I'm talking about some serious f ucking masterpieces that were omitted. This list is just plain ridiculous.

-The Night of the Hunter
-12 Angry Men
-Red River
-The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

-Brief Encounter (Hell, they put Lawrence of Arabia and The Third Man, who cares if this is British)

I was really sad The Thin Man got left off...OOOMG i can't believe GREED wasn't on there!
broken blossoms... was that with sylvia sidney?
Speaking of Sylvia Sidney, why wasn't DEAD END on this list?!

ohh yeahhh!! My bad, i was thinking of "madam bovary" and i have no idea why... yeah, Griffith was genius.. i live in the town where he used to work (and i'm probably the only person here who appreciates it).

The town where he used to work? Hollywood? Haha, well I live in L.A., and I am proud knowing that Griffith filmed some of the cinema's greatest films only minutes from my home.

uh...actually, it's Mamaroneck NY, the pre-Hollywood Hollywood. I guess not many people knew that, but the movies were transported to CA because of the more agreeable weather. The Gish sisters also lived here.
That reminds me, was "Angels With Dirty Faces" on this Top 100 list?

of the movies mentioned so far, i agree with Notorious, Paths of Glory, and Night of the Hunter.

i'd like to add two fliks that i think are superb achievements: Deliverance, and The Sweet Smell of Success.

david lean could create a great movie, the rest catch lightning in a bottle.
