My opinion

1st its been years since I saw the original. My dad grew up in Scranton and we watched it since it was filmed in Scranton.

Its hard for me to judge this one to the original, but I much don't care for the Coach character. That winning is everything attitude rubs me the wrong way. Plus his view on McCarthy i disagree with as well. McCarthyism wasn't the the finer moments of US history. It was a modern day Salem witch trial.

To me this movie is a view of the cost of winning. Because in the end, Phil is being used for just his money again and James' chance at his future political life is being ruined. For what, for George to have a better chance at a 2nd term for mayor. In the end, the 4 men are weak and ultimately come off to me as all losers since they still can't stand up for themselves to others or a man that was their coach 20 years ago.

What was good about this movie was that the acting was great. It was better than what I remembered about the original.

This is such a gay movie. 20 yr reunion and the coach where's a whistle. Hilarious.
