I saw this film a couple of years ago and never visited the imdb page, just watched it again recently and was wondering why there wasnt more about it on here.
It seems like a forgotten movie :(

Watched it last night. Interesting to watch a movie with Woody that he apperantly did not write, direct or produce.
I can see where some people would be offended by this film. It could be a way of demonstrating how religious myths can start in the most unlikely ways.
Most people who prayed to the Hand wanted some tangible benefit for themselves, a healing here, larger body parts there. It seems that of all the petitioners, only Tex asked for forgiveness. Everyone else was speaking to God by way of the Virgin. Tex was asking for a higher benefit by speaking to a lesser being, his late wife.
The dream sequence at the beginning where Tex is a magician reminded me of the magician role Woody would take later in "Scoop."

Who is Noone? Just kidding.I saw this this morning on cable for the first time and enjoyed it.Schwimmer is a sorry excuse for an actor tho.Never could understand why a stupid looking hang dog guy with the emotional range of a trout is a well paid actor.
