Just listen Grandmama!

Does anybody else find the German father to be absolutely hilarious?

Best part of this awful movie.

reply

Hell yeah. His name's Werner Herzog.

Best part of this great movie.

what's so great about it? honestly i just want somebody to try to argue why this movie isn't a waste of time. well maybe not entirely because of sevigny. but what does the movie itself want to say? I wasn't looking for something great to happen in terms of plot but this movie just had nothing to say. and in addition to that it was quite disturbing. i don't know what it is that attracts people to it. but i'm still curious.

I like it because I'd never seen anything like it before. And if you want it to be saying something, it was about schizophrenia and Julien is based on the director's uncle. That and I think it's funny.

Yeah the dad is hilarious. I thought the whole movie was funny in a sad, disturbing sort of way.

I love it when he says, " I found it- I found it very *beep* I guess it was his german accent that made it funny.

It's like watch the television show, "Cops," when ever he comes on screen.

Maybe in your next life, you'll believe the Zodiac when it tells you to cut the red wire.

Herzog's Dirty Harry monologue was hilarious...a rare light moment in such a depressing movie. "Grand-mama, just listen!" Cracks me up every time.

Of course I thought he was funny and if you not already know:
Werner Herzog is a great filmmaker himself (check out "Auch Zwerge haben klein angefangen", "Herz aus Glas", "Fata Morgana" or "Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes").
