What a stupid movie

Reminds me of a worse movie, the Longest Yard remake travesty.

Suspension of disbelief that Keanu can play QB in the NFL, even for a scrub team. The editing is horrible. Glaring scene in the lunchroom with the sumo guy and big black guy arguing. Each camera angle change looks different, throwing off the entire sequence and lending to more unbelievability. The scene cuts are so bad, with the sumo guy flipping the bird less than a half second after the other guy makes a crack. Don't tell me that his reaction would be that fast. Plus the euro player is not funny at all.

I turned it off during the cheerleader tryouts. God that was painfully dumb. Hey I love a good comedy, but this isn't one. This sh*t ain't funny, it's an insult.

An insult to who? I love this movie. I detest 'real' football movies, or movies that try to make football seem important. It's a game, nothing more. Hard to believe people think it matters. Give us more movies where they make fun of 'institutions' like football. Funny stuff.

Listen, im somewhat on board with you. I love this movie. Every time i see it on TV i stop and watch it. But that shot at football is just horse *beep* Lol. Its more than JUST a game. I understand its entertainment to most, but to players & coaches, people who are involved in the sport or people who simply appreciate the intricacies of the sport, its much more than that. Sure, there are people that go overboard, but sport is an important part of our culture and it has been for thousands of years. Maybe you're passionate about collecting stamps. Who am i to knock it?

Reeboot and re-imagine are just silly euphemistic excuses for the dirty word remake.

Obtuse? Funny, I've never heard someone who thinks football is idiotic called lowbrow before - usually it's the other way around...just sayin'...

It celebrated what IS important about sports. People coming together to be greater than the sum of the whole. It can be witnessed in sports, music, acting and military units. Among others.

We love this movie, I can watch it every time it's on. Just stopped at Dad's and he has it on.

This movie is hard to watch but it does get better as it goes. I think Bakula in Neccesary Roughness does a far better job, and its hard to see Hackman take a back seat to Reeves and co.
