The opening scene of Bill and Eddie walking down the street, then sparking off a chain reaction amongst the neighbours, was filmed in Malden Road in Borehamwood, not Teddington as in the series. Incidentally, this is the same road where Stan and his family live in On the Buses. You can see their house (no.2) right at the end of this sequence. The location filming was done in and around Borehamwood - the scene where Eddie, dressed only in a teatowel, surprises the clippie, was on Shenley Road. The boat scene with Joe and Annie was filmed under Blackfriars Bridge. You can also see the railway bridge which was demolished in 1979 (the red pillars are still there today though), and a very uncluttered waterfront in front of St Paul's. The register office where Bill and Eddie disrupted the wedding was also in Borehamwood, I believe.

The movie setting is Twickenham in the Royal London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. I used to live near that area and it looks as if it could have been filmed there. Twickenham is also very close to many film and TV studios and Heathrow Airport (which is also shown) so that location seems very likely although I can't say for sure.
