Did this ever scare anyone?
It's been a VERY long time since I saw this...but I remember after seeing it I was absolutely terrified. Anyone else, or am I actually the wuss I always imagined I might possibly be?

They each gave up a year of their own lives that the bad guy (can't remember his name) can collect at any time.
If youre wondering whats true and what's not you can off cause its none of your goddamn business
'They each gave up a year of their own lives that the bad guy (can't remember his name) can collect at any time.'
He wasn't really a villain. He was the Grim Reaper basically.
And it's not something he can collect at any time. It's one year 'from the end of your life.' He was touched that they'd give up something so precious so he took the one year from the end of each of their lives to give Pipkin a full life.
Yes, they save Pipkin. They each give up one year from the end of their lives to grant him a full life.
I'm 16 now and i haven't seen this since i was 4 and i remember nothing from this age except this movie. Thats how bad it scared me. All i remember is him dying and then his ghost popping up and crap. Still scares me. So yeah, this terrified me. But then again, Ernest scared stupid still terrifies me....
shareI was little when I saw it, so I didn't pay too much attention to it once they first saw the Halloween tree...the part that I do remember scaring me was seeing the ambulance take the kid away, and them thinking he was going to die from the appendicitis...and I think there was a scene where they were seeing the original mummies and one of them, it looked like it came to life. Maybe not, but I remember seeing something of the sort and that kinda freaked me out.

Pipkin did not die. He almost died. Yes, you do see him as a ghost but his friends save him in the end after they learn the meaning of Halloween. He lives. No one dies.
This is based on the book by Ray Bradbury.
There was nothing really frightening. It is a cartoon after all. But I did worry for Pipkin when I saw the ambulence at the beginning.
Yeah, I saw this when I was a lot younger and I remember being completely terrified of it.

it definitely scared me...
shareIt scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
shareI was 10 when this came out so I would have been a little older than some of you. This movie never scared me, it is still one of favorites movie of all time. Now that you're mentioning it I can see how someone would find parts of The Halloween Tree scary.
shareI read the book in 6th grade and had nightmares. Conversely, my second daughter read it in 4th grade, and loved it. She's now a freshman in high school and has established a tradition of reading it every year right before Halloween. I've never seen the movie, but would like to now.
shareSee if your town's library has it, and if not see if they can get it on loan from another library, that's what I did.
shareI pretty much cried when the circus posters came to life.
shareWhy?
shareYes, this entire movie scared me when I was younger. It still scares me in some parts. Maybe scares not the right word but it's definitely creepy, and a bit disturbing.
Oh, and since I JUST finished watching it again. For anyone wondering what the green guy's full name was: Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud.
when i was little, i couldn't watch it alone
liked it though :)
