well, Simon, that does mean that you are a sad git ...
this is a cliche-ridden primitive piece of crap and if you liked it that means you don't like movies at all. You must listen to Westlife and *beep* like that if you like that film ...

What? The Music was GREAT and So Was Beyonce !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

And The movie was GREAT!!!!!!! It is not Crap!!!!!!!!!!!!! But apparently you ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I'm at a loss as to why someone that hates gospel music would bother to go see this film in the first place.

reply

Rubbish, the music was great, especially the Ojays, Faith Evans, Beyonce, Balil, Angie Stone and Anne Nesby!!

Gospel is about enriching the livelyhood of the human being!! You ain't human and need the wax taken from your ears, otherwise you will get yourself into trouble.

I wasn't crazy about the acting in this movie, but I did like the music :-)

I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? Please continue... you were saying something about "best intentions"

reply

I loved the gospel and hated the rnb. The rap was ok. The track they sang at the contest really sucked.

reply

Seems like you got a bit of an unexplained bias. Why was the music awful? And why was the movie "crap"? I hate it when people state things, but never take the time to prove or explain their point.

The purpose of this post was pointless. And yes, I liked the movie...but then again, I don't judge things as harshly as others. There are things in life that require that sort of criticism - movies aren't one of them.

reply

I wouldn't give this film a 10, but all in all it wasn't bad.
I agree with 'ScootFla' - if you're going to ridicule and bash
(anything) " . . .take the time to prove or explain . . ." your point.

I love the music and the movie. I especially love the songs Beyonce sang "Everything I Do" and "Time to Come Home" and "He Still Loves Me"
I even bought the soundtrack and I rarely do that I only have one other and thats to The Bodyguard.

reply

this movie was good and the music was good too and like someone said. why would someone that hates gospel music bother to go see this film in the first place well thats really confusing to me too

I had never even heard of this film until I happened across it on vh1 last night, I really enjoyed it and am going to buy the dvd today, the soundtrack must be amazing, because the music for the most part was excellent, anyone who loves music and a good story with a lot of laughs should enjoy this one.

reply

There was some song or style in the movie that should appeal to just about anybody. I thought it was uplifting, kind of like "Sister Act". I enjoyed about the whole thing.

maybe only for religious freaks

reply

What have you got against gospel music? And don't call anyone who likes it a freak, it's rude if you didn't know. But don't worry, God still loves you, even if you are a troll.

reply

gospel music is not really a music per se
it is a religious propoganda for black audiences

reply

Um, I'm white and I like Gospel. And some classical, and some rock, and some rap, and some country, and some oldies, and some jazz. Not all songs of all genres will be instant hits or reliable classics, but educated people of ALL colors and religions (or lack thereof) will be open to new experiences, musically and otherwise. Whatever happened to tolerence? If I don't like a certain type of movie, I go on and find one I like, not try to offend everyone who thought it was good. I don't think this movie will ever be a cinema classic, but some of the music was truly inspiring. By the way, some of the people that are being so negative must not have noticed the message of the music. I find that ironic.

Gospel music is one of the strongest roots of all forms of "American music", including Jazz, Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Rap, Country Music, and, yes, all of Rock and Roll. If you don't know your roots, you are simply ignorant...
