That's cold, but Alicia did start getting on my nerves. For the most part of it, she was being a naive person. I wouldn't say naive "innocent" person, because she was far from that. She didn't even know what them girls were up to. They did so much shady stuff that she didn't even notice what was really going on.

They should have given Hadley the death penalty at the end of the movie, it would have excited me! She was a spoiled little bitch that wanted everyone's attention. "Waaaa Waaa daddy took his eyes away from me for exactly a minute, time to hurt someone!" If she was going to hurt anyone it should have been herself.

I didn't see Alicia as naive AT ALL. In fact, it seemed pretty obvious that she planned the whole thing. Getting close to the rich girls, using them, trying to find another way - ANY way to reach her goals after her financial aid didn't happen. She flirted with and befriended every one of them. Acted like she understood their pain and trouble - but she was simply finding out their weak spots. I can't imagine someone calling her character naive. If anything, the other girls and guys were naive to think Alicia was such a nothing. That they were helping HER out. By the time they got wise to her game, things were out of control. Alicia completely used Hadley and would have gotten everything she was after if she hadn't ended up in a coma.

Remember when she told her old friend, "This is a big opportunity for me - don't mess it up." She had a plan from the day she lost her financial aid. That's what was so interesting to me about the character. No one had ANY idea what she was doing or why - not even the cop trying to catch her 'killer'.

The only question I had afterwards was - where did she go those two days she disappeared? She had the fight with Hadly at the bar and then disappeared until she turned up at the end party. A question that was never answered, unless I missed something...

I totally agree with you. She was not the sweet, innocent girl her mother thought her to be. She was conniving, self-serving, treacherous, petty, and in the end she was actually worse than the other three put together. She outdid her mentors.

She pretended to be all things to all people to get close to them. For example, I don't believe HER father molested her like Dominique's stepfather (Daddy #2) and I don't believe she was also bulimic like she told Rachel True's character. It was a "me too" thing to get close to them, knock down their defenses.

She was beautiful but poisonous.

Alicia was like a chemeleon who would become whatever the person she wanted to get close to expected and what would get their trust and sympathy.

I agree. Hadley was a conniving rich slut! She tried to kill poor Alicia and we never know if Alicia wakes up so if Alicia had died it would have been murder. Bye Bye Blondie.

By the end of the movie I didn't like her at all. I felt she got what she deserved.

She was not the sweet, innocent girl her mother thought her to be. She was conniving, self-serving, treacherous, petty, and in the end she was actually worse than the other three put together. She outdid her mentors.

She pretended to be all things to all people to get close to them. For example, I don't believe HER father molested her like Dominique's stepfather (Daddy #2) and I don't believe she was also bulimic like she told Rachel True's character. It was a "me too" thing to get close to them, knock down their defenses.

Ugh, Alicia was HORRIBLE. At the end of the movie I was so pissed because she was still alive. When I saw it me and my friedns were joking around that we'd get a gun and do her in ourselves. I don't blame Hadley at all...in fact Props to Her.

What I didn't get was the fact that Hadley was arrested without trial, or any REAL evidence. She put the drugs in her wardrobe, but didn't give them to Alicia. What I really hope is, that Hadley's dad sees what a druggie Alicia is, and tghen fires her. I hate her. And Hadley's dad too for that matter.

Hadley was just arrested, not convicted. The trial hadn't happened, she was just arrested. As for evidence, they certainly had enough of it. She got the pure coke, put it where she knew Alicia would take it, and then delayed calling the cops. They have at least enough to charge her with manslaughter, if not attempted murder.

She could definitely have been charged with possession but it was Alicia who took it right, so shouldn't she have been arrested instead, or as well? Plus Hadley didn't give it to Alicia...how could they know that she put it there for Alicia to find? Plus Alicia's ANNOYING. She should die.

Think of it as poisoning. I just put the poison in your drink, your the one who drank it. Hadley did just put the pure coke there, but she knew Alicia would take it and that was her intent. She obviously put it there for Alicia to find, since she wouldn't be dumb enough to take it. She placed it somewhere where Alicia would look, then didn't call 911 right away, and covered it up afterward.

They could have arrested Alicia as well, but for some reason I think they would just chalk it up to "she has already suffered enough" (if she ever comes out of it).

Yup, I just read this on a Meridith Monroe Website. A rumor has been going around about making a Sequel, New Best Friend 2. It would basically start with Hadley being acquited of all charges and moving on from there.

lol, i watched this movie like on HBO or something and even though it was cheesey as hell, it was a good story, it made good use of the endless clichês. the plot was very well made. hell, they could have had a bigger budget though, lol.

Even if she did put the coke there knowing Alicia would do it....the coke was in Hadley's house and Alicia stole it. It's like...even if Hadley took a bottle of poison, and dumped it in a soda e bottle, if Alicia came into her house and drank it without Hadley being there I don't think Hadley could have got in trouble. I think they are saying Hadely "knew" Alicia would do the coke but really Hadley is not God and Alicia doesn't have any right to go into her house and steal her stuff. If they're going after intent, well her intent wasn't to have Alicia do the whole thing of coke, she just wanted her strung out, not dead. It was Alicia's fault for doing that whole gram up her nose anyways. I don't see why Hadley freaked out though she should have just been like yeah so I got pure coke and I guess Alicia didn't know oops!! But that good stuff was for me! Then they could have just got her on possession. But she might be in trouble because she did delay calling the cops and instead called the health center

she got what she deserved. hadley may have been a spoiled rich kid but that doesn't give alicia any right to try and steal everything hadley had! you know, they should have shown all of those tapes (the ones Warren was always filming) to alicia's mom to show her that her daughter was a manipulative little bitch! (other than the fact that they would have busted themselves in many ways and that wouldn't have been wise). not to mention, she just helped herself to the drug, it wasn't even hers to begin with!

i noticed that too! like when they were dancing and stuff, everything was like there. but anyway, i believe that alicia knew what her plan was from the get go. once she got hadley's trust, she pretty much knew what she was gonna do. once the financial aid was shot, she had to get the money some way. she found from just observing hadley's life that her father was rich and all she had to do was buddy up to her and her friends and make sure that they stayed clear of her. as for the drug thing, hadley knew by then that alicia stole from her and would do drugs any chance that she had. but her intent wasn't to kill her, it was merely to show her father that alicia wasn't as perfect as he thought, just like when she was on the phone "just me, you, and your strung out little prodigy." i think only alicia should've suffered, hadley was only trying to get her life back.
