More on the ending, Near Death Experience (NDE) etc. (spoiler)

I recently read a book on Near Death Experience (Dying to Be Me, by Anita Moorjani), where the author describes how she almost died of cancer, had a experience of the "other side" (i.e heaven, god, collective conscious or whatever you choose to call it) and returns to life completely cured of cancer with a clearer understanding of life. Watching Color of Paradise, after having read this book, was a really profound experience especially regarding its theme on appreciating ourselves and the world around us, and the accessibility of god(?) to all people irrespective of circumstances. There has been a lot of speculation in this forum whether the boy dies or lives, but either way the movie`s message remains same :-

1) Mohammed's father finally realizes that he can live a fulfilling life, irrespective of his circumstances, if he chooses to love himself and those around him. We know that he has "awoken" because he is ready to give his life for Mohammed. This realization will remain with him whether Mohammed is dead or alive.

2) Mohammed comes to know (either through death or through a miraculous rebirth shown as the golden light) that god is accessible to everyone, even a blind person.

I personally want to believe that Mohammed has a miraculous rebirth just like Anitas Near Death experience (NDE), and returns to this world still physically blind, but spiritually perceptive.

Great movie with a profound message. Your comments are welcome.
