once Annie was rescued...

After they pulled Annie out of the crevasse, how did they get back down the mountain to the point of being carried by chopper? Could Annie have survived that long without extensive medical attention and with just minor medical attention?

reply

Yeah, I wonder the same thing. Looks like she was damn dying when she got up - a chopper could not have arrived to them.

Is this your only perplexing question? Once you answer this you can answer the other fifty to hundred BS moments.

The only explanation I can come up with is that....the reason a chopper wasn't able to pick them up from where they rescued Annie is because of the weather. It's not because of the height that they have climbed. I'm not sure if that is correct, or not. I'm just guessing.

Above about 19,000 feet there isn't enough lift in the air for a chopper to take off. Watch the IMAX movie Everest - the part where they rescue Beck Weathers off Everest after that storm in May 1996 that killed 8 people.

As to surviving near death in that condition, read up about Beck Weathers who was left for dead 3 times before he was able to make himself get up and walk into Camp IV and get help. I believe that is above the 26,000 foot mark where the "death zone" begins.
