Chris O'Donnell's big jump... holy crap, how...

When Chris O'Donnell takes his two ice axes, goes running and jumps to the other mountain/rock facing... .that's quite a leap, and there's a high velocity in his jump. When he hits the other side.... how the hell does he not break his arms/shoulders???

Would it be possible in real life to make that kind of a jump and not seriously injure yourself?

Seems like convenient movie magic to me.

It's a wonder to me why a woman would even want DDs!! Heidi Montag has some serious issues!

IIRC There is no part of K2 like that.

You cannot run in big mountain boots + crampons like that.

Even if you could, you couldn't do it like at altitude and tired.

And even if you could, your face would smash against the wall, disorientating you/knocking you out.

And even if you remained conscious, then no, you couldn't hang on. When you start falling, you fall.

IIRC?

yah, it looks like a really ridiculously unrealistic, 'only in the movies' kind of jump.

...Jeremy Renner seemed to do a similar jump in Bourne Legacy.

Totally believable, I had to a jump like that only longer on Everest last year. My entire group was taken out by an avalanche , and I looked that avalanche in the eye and said "ice to meet you" and then totally outran it to the edge of the cliff grabbing one of my fellow climbers on the way and using his corpse to pole vault across a20 meter chasm. It was close but I pulled it out. I think I was able to get a little more speed since I was only in a tank top and shorts.

Lmao

Most likely it's not possible, especially with all of that gear.
Sure! There's probably a lot in the movie that falls under that banner, but like much of the rest of the film it looks dramatic and worked for me.

I think that part was potentially unrealistic.
