Parachute in for the billionaire?

I rewatched this movie during the weekend and I must admit that it's a pretty good adventure film(in my opinion).

And before anyone else says it; I know that this is a movie and the whole plot evolves around the fact that they have to CLIMB UP to rescue Caughn, Annie and MacLaren.

But still.

Vaughn is a BILLIONAIRE. Why couldn't they just radio/phone in a team of parachuters who then parachute in and rescue the them FROM THE TOP. Is there some explanation as to why this wouldn't work?

Maybe the air is to thin for parachutes to work at that altitude?

Possibly because of their time limit they had?

Because choppers can't fly in that altitude. Which is why da chopper could only carry them up to a certain point.
