In real life just left there?

There are lots of stories of people dying near Everest and climbers leaving them there for various reason such as seeing it more important to get to the peak, or conditions too dangerous to save them. There's a story of a climber being passed by very many and none of them doing anything.

Like that Towering Inferno where they came up with ingenious plans to save people, but in real life they did very little to save ones above fire in WTC.

And the towering inferno was fiction not reality.

Yes, in real life they would've left them right there, even if one of them was another climber's sister. They would never risk 6 lives to maybe save 3. The movie was absurd in every way.

The rule of thumb is if you die up there, you stay up there.
The climb into the high peaks weakens the body. If you tried to carry a body down from the peak, you risk being unable to get down yourself.

There are over 200 dead bodies on Mount Everest. Few have been recovered.
