Scarist monster?

I know this is boring, but for me, it's the giant spiders, purely because I suffer from arachophobia. I like the way they are given no introduction. You just open that creepy red double door in the guardhouse and it's just there, on the ceiling. No build-up, no cutscene, it's just there. I used to find the zombies scary when I was a child but these days I just see them as shooting targets lol.

reply

Yeah, the spiders scare the sh!t out of me as well. BTW why do you find the game boring?

"I wished Her back but the dead adored Her, Even wild winds sang in chora for Her"

reply

I wasn't refering to the game. I mean't I was boring for finding the spiders the scarist lol.

reply

Oh right! That makes sense, beacause I was thinking to myself "Who can find this game boring?"

I find the spiders the scarriest as well so you're not alone.

reply

I think the zombies are the scariest. I hate their moans.

Always used to find the mansion basement scariest - you go there after the guardhouse and so your subject to both hunters and zombies tearing each other apart in the bowels of the house. Scary! (Itchy! Tasty!)

Your name is of no importance and you live in the pipe in the upstairs water closet.

reply

all mentioned are scary for me in different ways.. zombies cuz if they get a hold of you, you're stuck for several seconds. the dogs shocked you when they first appeared, but where easy unless you met several.. the sharks where frikkin scary cuz they oneshotted you and you were awfully slow in the water. hunters.. damn. sloooooow things, until they notice you and runs and jumps like crazy ;D

reply

Barry was the scariest monster... he wanted to eat a Jill Sandwich for heaven's sake! OH MY COD!!!!

reply

The hunters. I'd say the lickers, but I can't remember if they were in RE1 or 2.

reply

the lickers by far, but theyre only in re2 and 5 (maybe 3, havent played it yet) and supposedly in Resident Evil REmake and Resident Evil Archives:Resident Evil (the first game remade for gc/wii) if you leave a crimson head around long enough without killing it'll mutate into a licker but im not sure about that, other than that the dogs or hunters

reply

Yeah the spiders always freaked me out because I hate the little ones you get at home never mind those massive acid spewing bastards! Hated when you had to go into that games room and there's about 3 of them in there, ugh. I always hated/feared the Hunters the most tho.

reply

The scariest monster for me would have to be the Tyrant, aside from being the final boss and the hardest to defeat, he is just the outright scariest.

reply

I'd have to say the "Chimera". Those walking (more like scurrying) humanoid insect-like hybrid creatures in the Laboratory Power room.

Luckily there's only a few to deal with and you only have to face them once. Their fast, agile and creepy movements ALWAYS freak me out. Also, the way they can attack you from up above on the ceiling sucks too. Not to mention their screechy inhuman cries. *shudder*

Zombies HATE Fast Food....

reply

I have 2 for the "scariEst" monsters. (Come on, is it that hard to spell properly?)

The zombies moaning always chilled me.

The hunters when they sneak up on your and scream. I especially hated it when they charge at you, only to leap in the air and swipe or decapitate you.

reply

Hunters, and the shark. The shark was way more terrifying in the remake.

Lickers made their appearance in RE2, by the way.

reply

Giant spider probably scariest too but I thought it hard to shoot giant spider but so easy for me and also the shark too. I think it giant snake is the scariest monster. Zombie not really scariest one but some zombie dog are scariest for me.

Spiders are always my biggest weakness in the Resident Evil games, especially in the earlier releases. I found the spiders in the second sewer tunnel (with the waterfall) in Resident Evil 2 to be the worst of all of them, because they can run into and crawl all over the screen up close. There were some other part of the first Resident Evil game enemies scary, but I still found the Giant Spiders scary every time. The first several times I played, the Cerberus crashing through the windows in the L-Passage was scary (now I keep it a secret from those I'm playing with, to give them a scare); I found the close up of the zombie in the laboratory on Chris's game scary; I found the Hunter jumping out in the green/blue passage before the Tiger Statue Room scary

In Resident Evil 2, I scared by the licker crashing through the one-way mirror startling and so is the Mr. X crashing through the walls, and the zombies breaking through the boarded windows in the green hallway. Yes the spiders in the second sewer passage, as I mentioned, was just brutal to someone who hates creepy crawlers.

In Resident Evil 3, besides the spiders, what scared me was the brain suckers and the other monster that's like the brain suckers.

In Resident Evil Survivor, it was just the spiders and the close ups.

In Resident Evil CVX: The spiders were different in this one, and not as bad looking as in the PS1 Resident Evils. That's the worst of my fears there.

Resident Evil Remake/Remaster: The giant spiders in this one look more realistic than in the original, but I didn't find the ones in the game room that bad, but the few in the basement were nasty looking, mainly because of the darkness of the basement. The remaster version giant snake was scarier than in the original remake.

Resident Evil 0: The blue spiders in the basement tunnel. The giant centipede is bad also.

Resident Evil 4: The dogs jumping out of the walls of the hedge maze.

Resident Evil 5: Really nothing scared me. The closest to giving me a little startle would be in the worship room where you think you're out of the way of the beam of sunlight and it hits you and it makes that shocking noise. Other than that, nothing.

Resident Evil 6: I only played Leon's game and it didn't scare me; just made me motion sick.

Resident Evil Dead Aim: Nothing.

Resident Evil Outbreaks 1, 2: The giant spiders. They weren't as nasty looking as in the PS1 Resident Evils, but they can jump at you.

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles: The spiders were the scariest, but not as bad as earlier games.

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles: The giant spiders in the Resident Evil 2 portion can jump at the screen, and so can the black widows in the Code Veronica portion.

Resident Evil Gaiden: Nothing.

Resident Evils Revelations 1, 2, Operation Raccoon City: I haven't played yet.
