song

does anybody know the name of the song played live at the club place when the reporter takes a picture of Pantaleon? The song is also on the menu of the dvd that I watched. I have searched on the internet but don't think that the song is mentioned in the crdeits.

the song is called "Ven a bailar" by EUFORIA

the lead singer, Ruth Karina, went solo
and she kept performing the song
then EUFORIA re-recorded the song with a new vocalist, Ana Kohler

so if you look up for this on any mp3 search engine
you can search it by 'euforia', 'ruth karina' or 'ana kohler'

Thanks, it was confusing that IMDB says in the soundtrack section that the song is "Euforia" by Euforia

Hi zombie tongue! Just to remind, this song is a popular version classiffied as Techno Cumbia, a modern rythm mixed of cumbia (folklore) and techno. This rythm got popular diffusion by the 90´s in Peru, Argentina and Chile. Exponents of this ryhtm in Peru are Rossywar, Aguamarina, AguaBella, Euforia and others. regards!

Thanks. I completely forgot about this topic. Yes I am very familiar with Peruvian cumbia since I have lived there twice so I know groups like Aguamarina and most of the other big names. But when I watched the movie I was not yet familiar with Euforia. I think they are a more tropical band from the jungle, plus an older group by the time I was there. The second time in Peru I made it out to the jungle so I got to hear plenty of this type. I also discovered the really old cumbia that sounds a lot like surfer music (some call it cumbia antigua others call it chicha antigua). If I recall correctly I think Teta Asustada (Milk of Sorrow) had a song or two of the old stuff.
