Why am I watching this movie the 5th time?

I am sorry to be asking this ultra-stupid question, but for the life of me, I cannot fathom why am I about to watch this movie for the fifth time.
I usually watch a movie only once - period. The only exception to this rule being Avengers 2012 which I saw twice. If I dont understand or have skipped certain parts, I do a pause/ffwd.
Im not religious so those gospel songs though hummable, dont tickle me much. Nor is the movie about fairies and goblins or Steve Jobs....

I feel like a second grader or a total imbecile watching this movie again. Has anybody experienced this thing about this movie? Wouldn't be surprised if I am the only one.

I've watched it several times but in my defense the first time I was on acid and it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I had to rewatch it again just to confirm how much of the surrealism was the drugs. (Answer: not as much as you'd think.)

Good movie though.

Cant say the same is true for me. No substance use. So still doesn't explain my situation.
And yes, I did watch it again yesterday. Dunno, makes something inside of me feel 'bright'.

I've watched it more than 5 times. Would watch again. There's a certain charm about it. I don't even want to skip (almost) any part. The songs are great. And it leaves me with a smile, no matter how I go in. The repeat watches have been when I'm traveling and can't convince myself enough to do something else.
I think this is one of my favorite films, and possibly the film that entertains me the most.
There's a harmony. Songs, colors, humor, acting, Dapper Dan, irony, the period, the cow at the end, 'Not the livestock', 'Gofer?'. I may like Coens' other films more on an artistic or intellectual level, but this one will always hold a special place.

So. I feel you, bro.

I Agree about the "feel good" sensation when it ends.

Same happens to me, and with 2 more movies: "Secondhand lions" and "Big Fish".

Any of these movies I would re-watch at any time ...

don't forget the geographical oddity (3 weeks from anywhere) and the rolltop desk (I thought it was in the rolltop desk), and the dude who traded his soul (he wasn't using it anyway) to the Devil so he could play that guitar real good..

I've already watched it twice this year. Which in fact makes at LEAST over a dozen times so far. One of the best.

Sure, some things were better back then. But for every comparatively bad thing today, there are 3 things that are vastly superior to bygone eras. Civil rights, life improving technology, access to pleasure, access to other people around the world. We live in a wondrous time and it has its flaws but I wouldn't give it up for the 20's (maybe for the 80's though ;) )

I watch this every time it's on TV. I know by now what the characters are going to say next. The music and cinematography are amazing. The humor is second to none. So many themes and ideas in this, you see it from a different angle every time.

A truly great comedy.

A few years ago it was on TV every night, so I saw it a lot.

But I watch most movies more than once. Why not?
