What makes this movie Great

Was the era it was set in. It was when life was simple. it was when things were built in the USA. Cars were American Made. If course food was cheap. People talked to each other. People helped one another. I would have loved to live during this time. Long dirt roads. Summers lasted forever. You did anything you could to stay outside. God I could literally sit here all day and name reasons why The 20's-30's are better than the world we live in today. I so wish a place like this still exist cause I want to move there.

and no air conditioning, no TV, no internet, no cell phones, no air travel.... the 20's and 30's sucked.

Well that's a given. But you have to admit..
1) everyone is lazy-- especially kids
2) no one wants to work
3) no one wants to go or stay outside(kids)
4) no one talks to each other on the phone(they text)
5)no one can think for themselves
6) no one can go anywhere without their phone
7)no one has conversations with each other anymore
8) shopping is being done online
Jesus Christ i could go on.. The Great depression was horrible from what relatives, and/or neighbors tell me. But you have to admit this world we're living in is going toS hit!

No I mean I agree to an extent, there's definitely some aspects of life from back then that are preferable to today. I still think life was far from easy back then though, pretty miserable for most people. Definitely an innocent time though...simple pleasures and such.

well, when times were tough back then people stuck together and there's alway's been a sort of nostalgia about those times. These days there is NONE of that, it's all bickering and crying about stupid stuff that doesn't even matter very much.

This movie is great because it is such a pleasure and joy to watch.The cast, music and cimatography are all top notch.

What made this movie great:

Great writing.
Great humor.
Great acting, from several characters.
Great music.
Great story.
Great historical references.

My favorite movie ever, and the best comedy by far.
