Welcome to the first UMM Newsletter. It's been a very good first month
for Unofficial Michael Moore with nearly 500 visits a day. It's also
been a very good month for Michael Moore with his new book selling over
1 million copies in it's first three weeks and still climbing back to the
Amazon Top Spot. After a whirlwind 39 city American tour in 23 days he went
on to sell out theatres, arenas and universities all over the UK, Ireland
and Scotland.

Although it was suppose to be a book tour officially, Michael used it as a
podium to encourage hundreds of thousands to oppose George W Bush.

Michael Moore makes his way to Springfield

Documentary filmmaker and activist Michael Moore was the next to make a
special guest voice appearance on The Simpsons. An Oscar winner for
"Bowling For Columbine," Moore appeared on the episode, "The President Wore
Pearls", which aired at 8pm on Sunday. Moore had this to say about his
appearance: "Ever since Bart's class went to the box factory in Flint a
number of years ago, I have hoped to make it on 'The Simpsons' one day.
However they draw me is bound to be an improvement on the original thing."

Moore still gunning for Bush and Blair

Appearing at the London Palladium on Sunday, the Bowling for Columbine
director was supposed to read passages from Dude, Where's My Country?,
the follow-up to his international bestseller Stupid White Men.

But faced with not one but two sell-out houses, Moore instead launched
into one of his trademark rants against President Bush and the ongoing
conflict in Iraq. He greeted his audience as "fellow members of the
coalition of the willing" - a sarcastic reference to the US-led
coalition forces in the Gulf. He went on to pour scorn on UK Prime
Minister Tony Blair, whom he described as the "enabler" who legitimised
Bush's campaign.

Kicking off his five-city German book tour, author Michael Moore, part
liberal preacher, part comedian, riffed on his standard fare in Berlin on
Sunday. Not everyone was impressed.

If Michael Moore didn't have the mostly young Berlin crowd on his side
when he rumbled on to the stage of a sold-out Berlin concert hall
Sunday night,his opening line brought over the stragglers."Welcome,
old Europe!" Moore said to cheers, a reference to U.S. Defense Secretary
Donald Rumsfeld's dig at Germany for its Iraq war opposition.

"You Need to Show that the People of Britain Don't Support Bush"

You would have thought it would take something more extraordinary
to trigger an outburst of unabashed US patriotism in the maverick
film-maker Michael Moore than a traffic jam on the M6 outside Walsall.
But after more than half-an-hour of the quintessentially British
pastime of going nowhere on the motorway, Moore's gaze fixes on the
free-flowing opposite carriageway.

"If you guys only drove on the other side of the road, that's the
problem here," he says. "The American side over there is going by
us at 70 miles an hour and we are stuck here." Moore is laughing but
his good humor barely conceals a concern that the British public will
be gripped by a similar inertia this week during the state visit of
his President, George Bush.

The baseball-capped popular icon of Western opposition to the Iraq war
is touring British cities, hoping to be the "advance guard" for mass
protests against Mr Bush, who arrives in Britain tomorrow. "It's up
to the British people to do their job in letting the American people
know the British people don't support this war," Moore says.
