The point?

I'm lost on the point of this show. No plot, one dimensional characters, and more sex-talk than anything I have ever set my eyes upon before or since. Odd... to say the least. So, my question: why?

reply

I think it is supposed to be entertaining. I find that it's best not to question the American television viewer's taste, though.

See You Space Cowboy...

Thought so, too. Thanks for the agreement.

I worked on the show and the creator of it gave the crew a speach once about his idea for the show. He said he wanted the viewer to feel like they walked into some ones personal moment. Like they were a fly on the wall. The three story lines changed every three episodes so you wouldn't get to caught up in any single charactor.

reply

It was written for people who couldn't get any.

reply

lol! I remember this show...
porn for kids.
had nothing to with music whatsoever. then MTV just got worse from that point.

thats exactly why i watched it....i discovered the show when i was in 7th or 8th grade when it was on at about 2 am when i couldn't sleep one night and i was hooked and i watched it every night at 11 pm expecially during the summer.....and there were some nights when i completely forogt it was on and my motehr was still awake and she would be flipping channels, and i would be soooo embarrased when she would get to mtv..... unfortunately for me, everytime this happened it was always a sexual scene when taht happened and motehr would make a comment everytime.......something like "ugh this is sooo disgusting...i hope you don't watch this *beep* stopped watching for a while a little bit before they cancelled...i don't know why.....i guess i lost interest for a short period...i regret it now taht they cancelled it though.

reply

i know just how yall feel. I was 12 when this show started coming on. I stayed watching this show @ 10 and 11 on fridays. and on weekends where the would show the weeks episodes id watch those too. It was a guilty pleasure. lol.. wish they would do a new season : ( but ajk718 dont feel bad that u stoped watching shortly bf it was canceled. bc the last season wasnt that good. why did they have to include high school students as well. i liked it better when it was mainly college kids. Does anybody know where I can get episodes of this show??? :P

reply

It was just to show random relationships. The acting sucked in general, but all in all, I thought it was interesting.

Same here, I felt so wonderfully bad because it was "so sexual" I was probably 9 or 10 when it came out. It really opened my eyes to say the least.

Its like the crappy dialogue of a porno movie before the actual sex begins... Why eMpTy V chose to air this instead of bringing back Austin Stories is beyond me.

reply

I don't really care too much for this show. I'm a night owl, so when I turned my television to MTV one night, this came on and I was so mad that they weren't showing Parental Control or some other little dating show. Not trying to be mean or rant out on anyone who does like it, but seriously. What is the purpose of this show?

Even my issues have issues

reply

Well, let's start by pointing out the obvious--the main focus of the show is sex. Sex, and everything related to it.

I think there's actually a lot a person could gain from this show, believe it or not. It shows the most diversity sexually more than any other show I've watched. The show examines, analyzes, and experiments with sex, oral, foreplay, make-outs, sexual orientation, etc.

Okay....You still didn't say what I could learn from all of these horny teenagers.

reply

You could learn a lot. You could learn a lot about yourself and others around you. This show may make you question your sexual orientation. This show could give you ideas for kinky games and romanticizing interaction. This show could let you know what 'turns you on'. I could go down and down the list, but I'm sure you get the idea.

reply

Yeah, but why watch this when you can watch a porno with the same level of acting AND the actual hardcore sex acts being discussed. Besides giving teenagers something to masturbate to this show is pointless.

reply

woah woah.. as in it's on late at night.. or are you comparing it to what they show now?

reply

I thought that the point of the show was to like... help us get used to sex. I'm a firm believer that no one should be afraid of their kinks and fetishes, and be themselves. This show was actually a moral compass for me. I know that sounds so stupid outside of my head but it really did! I mean, gay people have the same issues as me. A girl sometimes really does like two different guys equally... but it's really hard to make it work. I had a lot of problems that the people did in the show. There were people who were porn addicts, and furries, and neurotic people that I felt like I understood. When one of my friends had a problem, I instantly had the Undressed episode to match it. And it really was educational! I loved the ice game of "Don't Make A Sound" that the lesbians did, it's become my signature move. To this day, I still remember 4 out of the 5 great steps of a good blowjob. Toothpaste, Desert, Vampire, Fruitcup.
Toothpaste: Don't forget to squeeze it out, not just suck!
Desert: Don't have a dry mouth, chew some gum before hand. Use your saliva.
Vampire: WATCH THE TEETH! NO BITING!
Fruitcup: Don't forget to cup the grapes.
I know it was ridiculous. But honestly, don't we all take things a little too seriously?
I just feel the show's point was to get everyone on an even playing field. EVERY fetish, sexuality, etc I can think of had a storyline. In fact, it saved me from making a LOT of mistakes, seeing the characters make them right in front of me. Maybe they weren't aiming it at the middle school kids but hell, I loved it.

Well, you surely have a great way of explaining some of the show's other benefits. I think they're very true. Sex is such a touchy issue, but MTV wasn't afraid to elaborate on the act and give realistic scenerios that help real people cope with everything related to sex.

reply

Ya, I was way young when i started watching it. It was the summer after 5th grade. I felt guilty and bad but loved it all the same. Apparently a lot of my friends watched it too, but we never told each other till we were in our mid-teens.
This show is the reason I have such kinky/posibly messed up thoughts. My mind was such a dirty place. It is suprising though that I used to watch this show and many others and yet, I deny all sexual advances.(it's a religious thing. Waiting for marriage and all that.) One day I'll explode from sexual frustration.

hope you answer..plase .. thx

an other question: do you know where i can downlaod them or bye them?

bye, andreas

or do you know anybod who have episodes of undressed?

reply

The show pretty much is just for kids who are like 12 years old to jack off to. Why anyone older than 16 would watch it I don't know.

reply

The thing I liked about this show was that it was sexual without really being sexual, it was mostly just people talking about sex and getting ready to do it, and they never went further than that. It's mostly just implied. When this was on I was really young and I don't remember it but I do remember it being said that it and Beavis and Butthead as well, was controversial when I finally got around to watching a few years ago when someone had the whole series on Youtube, I didn't see what the big deal was especially since it's tame in comparison to so many shows on MTV today.
