first off, I'm a Christian. secondly, i don't think this was the best dialogue ever written. but it was EXTREMELY good and better than most. few movies have a truer narrative than DeVito's character to Facinelli's character towards the end. so, no, you do NOT have to be an Athiest to 'get' this movie.
Bob may have been a good person and a great Christian and all that, and if you believe in God you can argue that nothing is more important than God, but he makes himself a pitchman by steering every conversation towards the Bible and quoting scriptures and religion. not even Jesus did that. He used to cure people and tell them not to tell anybody about it.
and there's nothing wrong with talking about any topic you want, but like Phil said: for 2 days they are the 'hands of the company and lose their identities'. and since Bob couldn't talk to the client about BOTH business and religion, he CHOSE to ONLY talk about religion. and that is what made him a marketing rep for Jesus instead of his company. he decided that what was most important to him was more important than both Larry and Phil, and every other employee of the company for that matter. THAT is what made him disingenuous.
and that whole bit about honesty and character was good stuff too.
