I didn't discover this movie until last night when I saw it on tv... damn its been like 5 years since it has been out too! Holy crap..... one of the best comedies i've seen in the past few years!!!! This movie was soooo funny, I almost died laughing! Oh, what a hyperbole! haha!!!

Are you joking? Les visetuers was crap! You couldn't understand a word of what was going on, the subtitles when too fast, appauling acting, rubbish "special" effects, and it wasn't even funny. Honestly, les visetuers was a pile of crap.

First of all it's called "Les Visiteurs", not "les visetuers", and second of all, it's 10 times fnnier than the Hollywood remake. There's not that many remakes that are funnier than the original, after all! I've watched the original of Les Visiteurs too many times to remember and laugh every single time. I'm watching the remake now and sadly haven't laughed once yet! Seriously, watch the original again, it is funny!

You can keep your remakes, we don't need them in Europe. And learn to read subtitles, that's what we do here.

Les Visiteurs was great, its sequel was crap and the remake of Les Visiteurs 1 and 2 was even worse. The 2nd implied a third episode that was never shot - we had the useless remake instead... (and if you ask me I would have preferred a bad real sequel than a crappy remake)

I'm also surprised this movie has more than 3.5/10...

Yes, the original was amazing. The second one was good too, although not as good. The third one however is addressed more to the american viewers who hate to read subtitles. I didn't like it as much as the first two. Too bad they didn't followed the story from them.

The americans killed it with the remake!The original ones are HILRIOUS!The funniest movies i've ever watched!This one was really crap compared to the original ones.

The poison scene in this version was MUCH more effective than the Hex scene in the original! Also the means by which he returns to his own time was better done this time around. But then, the writers had seventeen years to rethink their original script.

I used to watch this movie all the time when it first came on Starz, I just recently saw it on again. It is one of my favorite comedies. As for the original, I wasnt even aware this was a remake until I came on here...

does anybody know how the film is called in which a few kids travel in time to the middle age in sth. like a trailer which was hit by a flash and when they go back to the present the trailer appears in a church painting, i can't really remember much of it but i want to know the name, or is it just a product of my sick childhood fantasy?

We own both the original French movie and this American remake, and we prefer the latter. Jean Reno and Christian Clavier both have superb comic timing and we wish could see more of them.

i literally...... can't catch my breath when watching it. i laugh harder with this one than any movie i remember, honestly.

it's a masterpiece IMO

I almost didn't watch it due to only two stars. Imagine my surprise when I thought, while not brilliant, certainly well written and acted, especially by Reno and Christian. Reno has gravity and comedic pathos, and Christian was drop dead hilarious. This movie was ten times funnier than movies that get accolades for being alledgedly funny, like Something About Mary or American Pie. Feh! I'll take Just Visiting anyday.
