Music in 'More'

I loved the music in this movie and until now thought it was made specifically for the short.

But I just saw an episode of CSI, and it was in the background of a scene.

Any idea what this song is called?

EDIT: Nevermind, a quick search uncovered that it is a song called "Elegia" by New Order

Oh I love this song. I have loved it for over a year since it was featured in our play at my school. Does anyone have an mp3 version of this that they could please send me? Contact me if you do. I'll willing to trade songs seeing as I have a lot as well.

It is really something special... and is a right one for this movie!

The film was also slightly trimmed to be the music video for a song called HELL BENT by the band KENNA. I actually prefer it with that song rather than the original music.

reply

Kenna isn't a band. He's a solo performer. But yes, I prefer Kenna's song over "More" as opposed to the original music as well. It evokes more emotion I think.

reply

I don't know. I saw this short with Kenna's song first, and it was terrific. But after I saw the real version (the New Order version), I feel that it was the better of both of them.

Just me, though...

the song is elegia by new order. its on the album low-life. its a very good song... wow that was a boring rreply.

reply

Yes, it is Elegia by New Order. It even says that in the credits at the end.

I liked it a lot. Though it sounded very derivative of that song by Ennio Morricone at the climactic showdown of Once Upon a Time in the West.

the song in this reminds me of a song in requiem for a dream... i dont know the name tho??

Thanks for uncovering that! I've wanted to know but never searched.

The music in this short is beautiful. It seriously almost brought me to tears.

More (short) -10/10
Kiwi (short) -6/10
Presto (short) -7/10

The music does sound a lot like that in Koyaanisqatsi around 1h06m. Some of the footage and implicit message from Koyaanisqatsi also does bear resemblance. I wonder if Mark Osborne had seen it before making the short.
