Nicolas Cage should have been the lead

The performance/character played by French Stewart just REEKED of Nicolas Cage. That role was totally custom-made for Nic Cage, and they didn't see it.

Oh, well....it was still a funny movie.

I don't know about Nicolas Cage, but I think the role of Seth should have been played by someone who was more of a leading man than a second banana type like Stewart.

reply

No...I think Jim Carrey, Matthew Perry, maybe even Dane Cook, before he chose to do Good Luck Chuck...but not Cage, because he just doesn't have that satiric comedy thing in him...closest thing he would do would be something similar to raising Arizona.

Matthew Perry would have been wonderful as Seth...great suggestion.

If Nicolas Cage had this part, it would been very similar to what he did
in Honeymoon in Vegas with the yelling and screaming. I thought French
Stewart was pretty good. I've only seen him in the few episodes of
Third Rock that I could stomach, and he was better in this than I
expected. Matthew Perry would have been good in this, but I don't
like Dane Cook, like someone else suggested.

Even Tyra worked in this film.

I loved Seth in the movie. For me, he made the movie. His timing was perfect!

French was great. He needs to do more stuff. Nic Cage would of been good too.

I seriously can't imagine Nic in the fart scene........
