What did they plan on gaining from killing everyone?

I'm pretty sure it was to gain publicity and sell their story.

It was basically the ending to Scream, but instead of capitalizing on being the actual killers they were going to capitalize on the movie rights and story. (I know in Scream they wanted to be known for orchestrating and committing the crimes , and in this movie they wanted to seem oblivious to why the crimes happened, but it is basically a re-washed script of Scream with a better looking leading lady.)

Howard could write and or sell the story of how he survived the massacre and he and tami could be heroes who killed a murdered. the media loves heroes. and if that brought them fame and drew attention to his other writings projects or her acting then that's a plus!!
